1 Timothy 2:1-4
At times our faith is weak. But know that GOD will increase it, know that if your desire is for Him, know that it pleases Him to intercede for others, as He DESIRES for them to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. If our faith is weak, then let us not trust in our own ability to comprehend the weight of what we’re asking for. Let us trust in His Word, let us...

So convicted about how much food I waste
I’m so sick of throwing out food I’ve forgotten about or just keep leaving in the fridge.
I’m so blessed and yet I’m so wasteful. My housemate just returned from Africa with the most heartbreaking stories and here I am, throwing out vegetables because I couldn’t be bothered to cook them for a week.
This year, I’m going to buy less, eat what I buy, and save my...

Genesis 18-19
If I don’t write up what I’ve learned reading this me in the next few days, please hassle me. The LORD is good and has given me great revelations through His Word on what it means to intercede in prayer, and how we should do it. He’s also taught me about how to (and how not to!) rebuke, and how to receive rebuke. Finally there’s lots more that I’ve learned about...

Genesis 14
I love reading Genesis. All these stories that you’ve forgotten.
Seriously, this one is worth reading. Pick up your Bible right now! Or click this link, and read with me!
In chapter 14, Lot’s been abducted by a bunch of kings, and so Abram, with his 318 trained men, go in the night and defeat the kings and bring back Lot and all the others who were abducted, as well as all the...

What a start to the New Year.
Houston, we’ve got a problem.
It’s back in full force.
That’s right, folks. Cancer has reared its ugly head again.
On the 27th of December 2011, I found myself in the hospital again. Mind you, I was actually supposed to go in for a check up on that day. I was at work, when I suddenly began to feel very faint and very weak. I hadn’t had lunch, so...

But Noah found favour in His eyes
An act of mercy.
I wonder what it feels like, for Your creation to be made so very good, only for it then to turn against You in rebellion. I wonder what it felt like when You watched as what was beautiful turned rotten and perverted. For we saw what was attractive and just took it as we wished. We didn’t care who was hurt in the process; we didn’t care for Your will. We saw what...

Sin is crouching at the door
2012. One day in.
Sin is crouching at the door.
Most people make resolutions, and we make them for many different reasons. Maybe you’ve made them for yourself; maybe your reasoning for wanting to work hard is to get a promotion, to be recognised for your hard work. Maybe you’ve made them because you think God won’t love you unless you make yourself perfect. Maybe you think...

O Lord,
You spoke creation into being
You took delight in Your work;
You named the Heavens, the Seas, the Day and the Night.
Every living creature exists at Your merciful hands.
My every breath is a blessing given to me from You, o gracious Lord.
How delightful are your sunrises, and yet nothing gives life and light like Your presence.
How breathtaking are your mountains, your valleys, and...

Bible Reading in 2012
I have many resolutions for next year, that I’m determined to stick to (well, most of them!). The main one is this: to rise early to spend time with the Lord (6am -8am starts) and to make my way digging into His Word. It’s a busy year next year and I don’t want to give myself too many readings for next year as I prefer to dig deeper into a smaller amount of text.
For this reason...

bible reading plans
I’m thinking about using a Bible reading plan to read through the Bible in one year. I know the cons of using such a plan; I know the danger of it becoming legalistic - but I feel challenged. I’m 22 and I’ve still never read through the whole of the Bible. I want to know more about the Word of God, and I want to dig deep into the Scriptures.
What Bible plan are you planning to...

The Stoning of Stephen
Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” But they cried out with a loud voice and sotpped their ears and rushed...

You're the God of this city
Jesus said:
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You...

loveleighmuse asked: You're a prayerful lady and I really look up to you for that. I always appreciate your posts, but mostly, your heart for God and willingness to be used. Could I ask you to pray for me? I'm looking for direction this next year. I'm feeling confused about where to go and what to do. God has given me gifts but I've yet to unwrap them, or find what the best use for them is.

The lame begger healed.
What a story.
I’ve known it since I was young and did all the actions to that song. But the LORD gave me new eyes to read this passage (Acts 3:1-10) today.
1Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those...

classyliving:
And even if my Church may not feel like family, you are indeed a family. I have raised up brothers and sisters to walk beside you and encourage you and mothers and fathers to speak wisdom into your hearts. I have raised up hearts ready to grant you the discipline my holiness calls for. You have all been reconciled by the blood of Jesus Christ and are united by the Holy Spirit....

Church: His body, His bride
What a glorious collection of unglorious people!
I’ve been very indecisive about what I want this post to be about, and have decided not to overwhelm you with thoughts, particularly as I’ve come across great resources summarising what I’d want to say anyway. So I’m going to be focusing this post on what it means to be the member of a local church (since this is what a lot...

Thinking & praying about what the church is meant to look like.
The Bible has some beautiful gems of wisdom on this topic.
It’s a lot more than a social club, a lot more than a building.
I’ve read a lot of posts about people struggling to find a congregation to settle in, or thinking about leaving their congregation, or just plain confused about how they should feel about their...

O, Lord Jesus
I am so unworthy of Your presence.
I squandered the gifts You gave me. I rebelled in what I thought was freedom, but it was only death. And I gained a reputation. O, Jesus, I gained a reputation. And I was known. They knew what kind of woman I was. They knew that I was a sinner. Even the world knew. I wasn’t dirty just by the church’s standards - I was dirty beyond the world’s...
