This broke my heart more than it has in awhile. Matt, brother in Christ, you can count on my prayers.
awake my soul.: A Tumultuous Turn. ↘
What a start to the New Year.
Houston, we’ve got a problem.
It’s back in full force.
That’s right, folks. Cancer has reared its ugly head again.
On the 27th of December 2011, I found myself in the hospital again. Mind you, I was actually supposed to go in for a check up on that day. I was at work, when I suddenly began to feel very faint and very weak. I hadn’t had lunch, so I figured that I was a bit undernourished. Being busy with the store, I grabbed the first thing I can find. A chocolate bar. I munched on that, and ate just a couple blocks of it before I set it down and got distracted with a client. As the client was talking to me, I just remember the room spinning and I felt myself falling. I had hit my head on something hard, but I wasn’t sure what. The blow really knocked me out, and when I woke up, I was in the hospital, hooked up to all the machines. My mouth was dry, and it was a bit hard to talk. It took my eyes a while to get adjusted to the lighting in the room and it took me a while to begin recognizing faces and voices around me. As I woke up, my nose began bleeding and when I went into the bathroom, I noticed a lot of bruises on my skin.
Fast forward to when I was more aware of my senses and the Doctor F. came in. He told me that I had a blood clot in my brain, and that my platelet counts were low. The average human platelet count is 150-440 . My platelets were bouncing around between 50-88. By the next morning, I was in a coma for two days. I can tell you all what it felt like, but I’ll leave that for another post.
Anyway. Fast forward to New Year’s Eve. I got into a bit of an argument with a friend on the phone and got myself a bit overworked. I went into a seizure, and then my heart stopped. Yes, I went into cardiac arrest. (Save that story for another post too.) I woke up on the 1st of January 2012, in the ICU. What a great way to start the year.
They’ve found two tumours close to my heart, along with that blood clot in my brain.
Followers, you’ve given me so much strength before, and I know that a couple of you know me personally. Right now, I need you to pray for me as I go into surgery today. Pray. Pray. Pray.
Please, pray for me. Give me the strength to power through this. I need you all right now.
