There are so many birds in the trees outside my new apartment. Also, I think my neighbour has a pet goose.

Death toll is currently at 15; far more people are missing.
Lord God, please reveal Yourself to all in Queensland.

so i just found out that we're supposed to separate lids from bottles and jars before we recycle the bottles/jars. plastic lids smaller than a 50c piece will jam the machines & cannot be recycled. ↘

And don’t put your recycling in a plastic bag, or the entire plastic bag will have to be thrown out <— :’(

Check the link out for more recycling tips for Australia! x

[ choices, choices ]

For those who have been praying for Australia, thank you. For the past few weeks, enormous responsibility has been placed on a four independent MPs and one Green MP, who had to decide which party they would back. With Tony Windsor becoming the third member to back Labor, it is now impossible the Coalition to form a minority government. The future kind of rests upon one last Member to decide. His name is Rob Oakeshotte, and he really needs our prayer right now. Pray that his heart breaks for what breaks the Lord’s, and that he will make his decision based on his compassion for others, and that it will be a wise one. Australia needs your prayers, even if it’s a quick arrow one that you send up right after reading this. xx

About 75% of Australia’s votes have been counted, and it’s looking like a hung parliament. Please pray, pray, pray for our country. We need your prayer. Our people have the ability to help and love so many people and we need your prayer. This country needs a leader after God’s own heart. Please keep praying.

Australia is voting for their new leaders today.

Please pray that people vote out of love for others, and not love for their own comfortable lifestyle, or their fear of the other.

[ for australia ]

I’ve been posting this in people’s prayer request ‘ask’ boxes, but here we go. I’ve already mentioned some of this in my previous twine-related post, but here’s a formal prayer request for you all out there:

Please pray for Australia. I’m not sure if you’ve heard but in the last 24 years there’s been a change of leadership - we now have our first female prime minister, Julia Gillard, but it’s all a bit of a mess. Kevin Rudd, our immediate past PM, never got to finish his first term (he’s the first Australian PM to not get a chance at that). Gillard’s not a Christian, I don’t think. Please pray that God is working in Rudd’s life, surrounding him and his family with comfort, it’s going to be a rough time for him, his wife and his son. Pray also for God’s intervention in Julia’s heart. I get excited at a prospect of this country being led by leaders who are like David, after God’s own heart. We’re far from that now, but it’s something I would really appreciate prayer for. Can I be praying for you?

Twine makes me so happy. I’ve been sticking up pretty things all over my room with twine.
I woke up this morning to a new prime minister, our first female PM. The last 24 hours have been hectic for our country. So please keep Australia in your prayers. It’s a shame that Kevin Rudd didn’t get the opportunity to serve out his whole term, but may God be working in Julia Gillard’s heart. Please pray for God’s guidance for both the Labor and Liberal parties in the lead-up to elections this year. I’m not entirely sure where we go from here now. It’s all happened so quickly.
