Today is a wondrously autumn day and it is windy and chilly but warm in the sun and I have been wearing my ugg boots and taking this rare bit of sunshine to wash my bedsheets.
I love hanging sheets up on a line and watching them blow around in the breeze.
I’ve eaten some smoked salmon and cream cheese on soy & linseed corn thins and it made a delicious snack, alongside some seedless red grapes.
Small things in life are sometimes the best.
Today I am happy.
Dough (by eightsandnines)
I just love rolling out dough.
“Never waste pesto again! Mix left over pesto with butter, freeze in individual portions. Use the pesto butter on steak, chicken, lamb etc. Mix some garlic into it as well for a great tasting butter and spread on a toasted baguette.”
SUCH A GOOD IDEA
Don and I had udon a few nights ago, and it was wonderful. Super super wonderful.
last night don and i celebrated his birthday with a fabulous feast at est.
no photos unfortunately because they didn’t come out well on my phone camera..
but i had the most delicious roasted quail and oxtail tortellini and game consommé and caramelised beurre bosc pear with praline and chocolate and honey caramel icecream
and you had the tastiest ocean trout sashimi with crème fraiche & apple cucumber and steamed snapper and quince tartelette with apple vanilla sauce and poire william icecream.
and we shared the tastiest rosted guinea fowl breast.
and mash. the most incredible mash i’ve ever tasted.
it was a beautiful evening.
somehow, we ended up sitting in the same seat we did about a year ago.
we laughed so hard, and we were so comfortable
and i liked that feels like a familiar place, even though we don’t frequent it often.
you were ridiculously handsome across the table from me too.
thanks for letting me order mash.
