Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak.

- Jesus, about His return in Luke 12:35-38

the parable of the ten virgins [matt 25:1-13]

1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’

7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

He comes like a thief in the night

Think about My return, beloved. Because I am coming soon, and you do not know the hour or the day. Every day you wake up is one day closer to My return. Keep watch, because I come like a thief in the night and I want you to be prepared. Know that the Judge is coming and if you are in Me, you have nothing to be afraid of. But know that I am coming, and be prepared. Be faithful of the little that I have given you, so that at My coming I will find you doing what gives Me glory. Be ready, so that I can say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” on the day of My return. Be ready, so that you will not be like the wicked servant who convinces himself that I am staying away for a long time and begins to hate others and indulge in sin. Know that many will give into the temptation to stop living for the Day of the Wedding and begin living for themselves. Be careful you do not do the same. If you are in Me, there is no condemnation and the Day of Judgement will be a Day of great comfort and of joy for you, My bride! So be prepared, beloved, be prepared because you do not know the moment I will come and everything about this age falls away. Remember what is important. Remember that everything will fade, except for My Word, and so cling to Me. Think of My return, Beloved, and let it shape the way you live. Be prepared, beloved, and live for My glory.

I went to a beautiful wedding today which focused on the fact that my friends were getting married because they loved the Lord first. We prayed that they would submit to each other so lovingly that their marriage would reflect the Lord’s unfailing love for us. My friends were so happy. They are such a humble couple and I am overflowing with thankfulness to God for creating us to feel love like we do. The look on the groom’s face made my heart leap for joy because I know Christ’s face at the Wedding will shatter my mind with its brilliance. I pray that God would guide these two friends to love Him always and love each other well. This beautiful thing God has created - may no man ever part it. He is such a good God. All the time.

What a wonderful proposal! :’)

Don and I are going to our friends Ben and Evie’s wedding on Saturday. I’m excited to see Evie in her dress and Ben’s face when he sees Evie. I’m excited about praying for their marriage, and I’m excited about seeing two friends make such a wonderful commitment together before God and the church. It’s going to be lovely.

There’s going to be a Wedding - it’s the reason that I’m living, to marry the Lamb.

He’s saying tonight: O My beloved! Oh, you don’t need to look at your past and remember your sin, because I’ve washed it all away. As far as the east is from the west, so have I removed your sin from you. I’ve thrown it away in the sea of forgetfulness. I no longer remember it. It is gone. It is gone. You don’t need to dwell there any longer. You don’t need to dwell there any longer. It’s gone. I’ve washed you clean. My blood is enough. My blood is enough to wash you, to cleanse you. So forget it. It’s in the past! I don’t remember anymore! I’ve made you new. I’ve washed you white as snow. And I’ve clothed you in garments of righteousness. I’ve clothed you in garments of white. You have the victory because I have the victory! I’ve conquered it. It’s no longer there. It’s no longer there. If you are in Me, there is no condemnation anymore. There is no shame anymore. My beloved, I have washed you. I have cleansed you. You are beautiful to Me! You are lovely to Me! Oh, I’m making you ready; I am clothing you in white, My bride. My bride! And you need to know tonight it’s all about that wedding day. That’s where your focus needs to be, on the day where I return and claim you. This season, I’m making you ready. I’m preparing you for that day. Don’t dwell in the past - look forward. Look forward to that day when I come - when I split the sky and I claim you as My own! We’re going to spend eternity together. Eternity together. Eternity together. This is My promise to you, My bride. I’m making you ready - just embrace it! I’m making you white as snow, preparing you to shine. To shine, to shine, to shine, to shine, to shine, to shine, to shine, to shine, to shine, to shine, to shine, My beloved!

I’m waiting for the Wedding.

I don’t know when, but I know it’s soon. And when He comes, it’ll be the biggest wedding this universe has ever seen.

The bride of Christ is so ready for Jesus.
I’ve been thinking about whether or not I’ll fall flat on my face in awe and with trembling like those who have seen Jesus did. Of course, I can’t know for sure. I get all jittery with excitement when I think about the moment.

Part of me thinks I’ll see Him in all His glory and my heart will be so overwhelmed with joy and love that I’ll run as fast as these little legs will take me, straight into His arms.

But our citizenship is in heaven.

Philippians 3:

18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Oh LORD, I lift up my eyes. Where else should I keep my gaze? Everything on earth becomes strangely dim when I think of You, and our wedding and reunion. LORD, You’re the Giver of life and I look to You. Spirit, help me to obey Your commands:

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
- Colossians 3:1

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
- Romans 8:5-6

Beloved, I lay it all down before You. Spirit, help me not to pick it all up again in fear. I let go of all the desires of the flesh. LORD, help me to desire things like marriage, a good grades and a steady job in this life only if they are part of the process of setting my mind on heavenly things. Jesus, You deserve all of me. So LORD, take what is Yours now, and make me fit for You. I wait for You eagerly.

Child, you see how beautiful she looks in that gown? I am returning and on that day, you will be far more beautiful than she looks now. Child, you see how happy he looks as he sees her coming to him? I am returning and I will be far more glorious and delighted as I come to see you. Child, you see their joy as they are united? Child, nothing can tear us apart and the day is coming where eternity begins with you in My presence forever.

the wedding today was absolutely wonderful. steph and jamie are so creative. her dress was incredible. the bible passages read out were wonderful (psalms, song of songs, ecclesiastes, revelation), reminding us of our place before God and what we’re all doing and what we’re looking to. they even had a scavenger hunt organised! i caught up with some lovely people (my friend jess is absolutely adorable. <3) and just felt lovely. it was the first wedding don and i had been to together, and it was wonderful to be reminded of what romantic love is all about.

Need. Find. Last minute outfit. To Steph & Jamie’s wedding tomorrow.

WHY IS EVERYTHING I OWN BLACK T_T I’m such a killjoy..

Okay, please don’t take this post as a “I WANT TO GET MARRIED I WANT TO GET MARRIED” post. I just want to say that the vows are beautiful. How wonderful for this couple that from the start of their marriage it was made perfectly clear what was involved. What kind of love was involved, and what kind of unique role they needed to take on as a husband and a wife. Don’t get me wrong - I still think traditional vows are wonderful and totally legitimate - but these vows would be a nice addition!
